Auckland's Viaduct Basin is centrally located with easy access
from both road and sea. There is ample parking with the added
bonus of convenient ferry rides to and from the North Shore. Major bus
and train terminals are close by.
This area is already popular with the residents of the exclusive, harbour-side apartment developments that surround it. Restaurants
and bars have a steady clientele from the numerous neighbouring
hotels, including the Auckland Hilton, Auckland's only 5 plus-star property. The Viaduct Basin is also a popular meeting
place and point of reference for the Free Independent Travellers (FIT) market.
The Auckland Wine & Food
Festival has become an annual event, as popular as any other event on the Auckland "must do" calendar. Such events include: the internationally-recognised
Round The Bays Fun Run, beloved Teddy Bear's Picnic and the increasingly
popular Lantern Festival.
